Me an a few friends are trying to decide between amsterdam or Cairo Egypt for a vacation ( 4 days). Where would you guys an girls go between the 2? Im thinking Amsterdam would be more exciting but then Cairo is only a 2hr flight from where I am and are money would go a long ways.

never been to amsterdam but i went to cairo last summer and it was very interesting. it was a very hectic city but lots of stuff to see. if you want to go on vacation for sight seeing, definitely cairo. but i dont think it's a place for rest and recuperation.

What about safety? Just a little concerned, especially with everything going on now a days. But I am really excited, I thought it would be a sin to be this close to Africa for a brotha not to go. Thanks for everyones feedback!

Cairo's recent drama has made National headlines, but it's still safer there than any big metropolis in the States.

I'd rather go to Cairo, but I guess it depends on your motives for going. For sightseeing it'd be Cairo, for partying I'd choose ole Smokey .

I would say Amsterdam b/c it is only a 4 day trip. Why travel two days to be at a place for 4 days? I would pick Cairo if the vacation was longer.

I visited Amsterdam (via London) for exactly four days last month. I always find that I get bored when I stay anywhere too long, but I couldn't imagine going to Cairo for only four days. I think I would feel cheated, because there is just too much I want to see and do. Cairo for me, would be a 10-14 day trip.
As far as Amsterdam is concerned, seeing Anne Frank's house alone, is well worth the 4 day trip.
