When little junior high kids called me "Lady" and "Ma'am" instead of tryna holla. I was like Wha!

When I stood in the store complaining about the price of gum to the store owner "Back in my day gum cost 25 cents dag nabbit!....."

When going out and getting wasted wasn't a big deal anymore :dunno:

1. when today's rap music became repulsive and I began to really dig the stuff my folks used to listen to when I was growing up.

2. when I realized that they don't build teenage girls like they used to when I was growing up. These 13 yr old girls got mo booty and skills than I do.

3. when I heard a lil 10 yr old boy cus a lady out like he'd been cussing his whole life. And this kid comes from a "respectable" family. This kinda stuff just did not occur back in my day. Never even thought about it.

I knew I was old when I went to grab my 16 year old nephews hand so we could cross the street together so he wouldn't get hit.


I now have a nighttime beauty regime. Before it was wash my face and go to bed.

Yesterday when I went to do an open mic and right before it was my turn I told the host I had to go because I was too tired and I didn't want to give a half azzed performance. It was a little after 10:30

I seriously would have been yawning on the mic.

I agree I'm listening to more Al Green , Aretha , The Commadores , etc. can't take g-g-g-g-G-UNIT ! :doh

Also I always catch myself doing the same two step all night long when i'm at a lounge or club :icon_headshake:

When I stopped getting carded and had to demand to be asked for my I.D. (don't take it as a given that I am over 21 dammit)

When I started going to bed before my kids

When I was showing my daughter some of the dances that we used to do in HS and I hurt my ankle doing The Smurf

While she is laughing at me and showing me her dances, I tell her in an old folks way "Shoot that ain't nothing but the Calvin Klein sped up"

When I start making sure I have vegetables or fiber at every meal, including breakfast.

ETA: When I hated the new song by Bow Wow and Ciara simply because it is a total ripoff of New Edition's "I'm Leaving You Again"
