I have been transitioning for four months. The first month I wore wigs and headwraps, and the second month cornrows. The last two months I've been wearing two strand kinky twists.
I'm trying to pin point when I want to BC. Is there a recommended season? Winter (Oct-Feb) time is good for protective styles so should I wear braids, wraps and wigs for the winter and BC in the spring (March -April)? :dunno:Queenmoca

Ya know, I never thought about it like that, but my goal is to BC in March. It will mark a year for transition, was my primary reason. But I suppose that March-April here bring a lot of wind and rain, and it seems that it would also be benefical to BC around that time (I should have around 5-6" of hair by then, so my head being cold shouldn't be an issue).
I have seen lots of people like to BC in the summer so that it's warm during the twa phase, and because your hair tends to grow faster in the summer.

Great question Queenmoca I have been thinking about the same thing Winter will be here in no time so I might wear protective styles as well and probably BC in the Spring :dunno:

For the most part Id ont't hink it would matter much. However I coudl say summer would be better because you have a few months to get use ot your hair, learn what it likes and dislikes before winter comes through and adds a little twist.

I think your point is right! If I "BC" in the spring (March)/summer I will have until October to "get to know my hair".
I wish there were mannequin dolls with natural hair....then I could practice like people do at cosmetology school. I practice on my daughters hair but she has long hair............. not the same
Thanks for the informationQueenmoca
