    Wink

It seems as though when I search through the profiles and albums that I am the only who has just done the BC. I need to really find a sista who is a newbie to this. I look at the other albums and get alot of motivation because their hair has grown so beautifully and healthy. I am at the beginning stretch and I just worry to much about how long it will take to grow...I am on this site all day and nite. I am praying and drinking water all day and night. I am trying to eat healthy and read up on how to grow my hair. I am stressed and just want to relax but I am a virgo and we do worry alot about ANYTHING! So if I could find a sista who is at the same stage as me that I can chat with it would really help big time. Also any advice from you sista's with a little more miles and wisdom is always appreciated. You all are great and this site has helped me alot. If it wasn't for this site I probably would still be transitioning and taking for ever to gain growth with that thin stuff weighing me down...well I guess I will get out of here and stop talking ya'll eyes off..........voni

    Hi Voni,
I'm a newbie. I don't have a TWA though. I wore braids for 1yr and a half and now am working with my natural hair. So we can chat if your still looking for someone that's new to the game.

I'm still a newbie. I transitioned for 3 months and have been napptural for just over 2 months. You sound like your doing well, as far as keeping your hair healthy. The truth is everyone's hair grows on a schedule. It grows at its own pace, and in my opinion you can't do much to speed it up. Your hair is always growing, and it is your job to retain that growth.
Right now I'm trying to keep my hair as moist as possible, especially since I got it colored. The less breakage you have; the more growth you'll retain.

    All I can say is...
    • Keep up with your current routine, if you feel it is working for you
    • Don't forget to trim those split ends
    • Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

Don't worry. I'm still trying to find the right routine for my hair. It may take some time. Just remember, as long as you keep you hair's health as a priority, your hair will gain the length you're wanting.

    Hey Voni

I am a newbie as well. I did the BC last night and I have not a clue as to what I am going to do about moisturizing and other things. This will all be a trial and error thing for me. I will be more than happy to chat with ya. My last chemical fire cream was end of January so I have a mini fro. We will get through this. It's just the beginning of a long awaited journey.

    Hey Voni,

First of all, go head girl for taking that big step...Secondly, you're gonna think this is crazy...I BC the same day you did! Two weeks ago on April 18th. Your hair is probably a little longer than mine because my last chemical fire cream was like two months b4 but still. Third, so mad your screenname is my nickname! Could it be, my hair twin?

    ((Hugs)).

I have been napptural only a month so I'm a newbie.

Only thing is that I transitioned just over a year, so I have between 5"-7" of hair. Doesn't make it any easier though. It's actually a bit rough, because it's at an in-between stage--not quite a TWA, but nowhere near long either.

thanks everyone for their post. Now I don't feel so alone in this. I do have braids now and I really miss the fro. I don't think I will get them again though. I have two weddings to attend this summer so I know I will have to do something for those. I can't wait until it is long enough for me to do a twist out that hangs....If you are a newbie and you have an album I viewed it and you all look nice. I hope that you all will be very happy journey. I will keep in touch and you all please do the same.
