I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find BTMS to buy. I have found it online, but none of the sites sell BTMS by itself. It's always combined with some other substance. Is it possible to buy BTMS on it's own?

I saw it on this site (www.makingcosmetics.com) combined with Cetearyl Alcohol. A little further down they have RepairConditioner (behentrimonium), but it doesn't specify BTMS.

I'll take a look there. BTMS and behentrimonium are the same thing( if it's behentrimonium methosulfate)

BTMS is a mild detangling agent that gives a silky feel to formulations. I've seen it used in conditioners and lotions. I've seen it on sale in combination with Cetearyl Alcohol. It can also be used as a primary emulsifier. It is derived from vegetable colza oil.

My hair really likes BTMS. I always look for it in conditioners. I find that hair products with that ingredient moisturize and detangle my hair better.

Forgive me for advertising but if you're in the UK or Europe, I stock it.

I'm in the US and I'm still on the hunt for BTMS by itself. I've looked at all the suggested websites and it seemsto be always in conjuction with some other emulsifier. Does anyone know whether BTMS doesn't exist for sale as an individual ingredient? If not, does anyone know why BTMS doesn't exist on its own?
