I recently heard "I have a Father who can". It was not my first time hearing it, who knows how many times I've heard it. But for some reason, this time I really heard and experienced it. I wasn't going through something terribly bad, but the Holy Spirit wanted me to know and fully understand that I'm not in this battle alone. Lots of things I can't do, but I have a Father who can.
CeCe Winans has a song called 'Slipping'. That song totally describes me in the last couple of months. I heard it last week and am getting (not there yet so pray for me) stronger in maintaining the path that's best for me.
What song moves you?

OMG, it's going to take several posts for me to name the songs that have gotten me through some difficult times. I strongly believe in the power of music. In fact, sometimes I'll sing my point across to people during a deep conversation if I think of a song that I've found deals with the subject matter.
When I was questioning my religious beliefs, when I was worried about changing out of fear that people would say that I was crazy or stupid or that I was purposely being disobedient or anything like that, there was a line in a song that I will NEVER forget. I'd heard the song so many times, but this time it meant something. I think it was by the Mississippi Mass Choir and I THINK the title is "There Could Never Be a Friend". I'm not sure, because it was on cassette tape and I no longer have those. LOL
"So now when you go through....
through your trials and your cares
please don't look
DON'T LOOK TO MEN
FOR THEY'LL LET YOU DOWN
Just remember
there is just ONE
who will go with you 'til the end
His name is (God)" <<<---------the song says Jesus but I had to type God just because that's how I sing it
There's also a song by Daryl Coley that I sing quite often --- HE'S PREPARING ME
"He is preparing
God is preparing me
He's preparing me for something
I cannot handle right now
He's making me ready
JUST BECAUSE HE CARES
HE CARES
He's providing me with what I'll need
to carry out the next matter in my life
God is preparing me
Just because He cares
He's preparing me
Oh for everything
that comes in my life"
The EXTRAordinary are always misunderstood by the ordinary.

"Please Don't Pass Me By" by Fred Hammond always hits me in my longing heart.
"He Brought Me" by J. Moss is my get-happy well-alright song.
My all-time, tears in eyes, get my worship on are the old gospel standard "Going Up Yonder", and "Were You There" no matter who sings it.

Don't forget to THANK PANK!

OMG! YES!!!! I started to feel the tears form JUST READING those titles. Man, I can just hear Mahalia's powerful voice belting out that last part in "Imitation of Life". Talk about chills!!!
I just realized something ---- all three of those songs are used in/towards the end of a movie.
A CHANGE GONNA COME ---- MALCOLM X
MANY RIVERS TO CROSS ---- JASON'S LYRIC
Ever play one of those songs over and over and over and over and over just to get all the tears out?
I have. I do. Sometimes you just need a good ol' CRY!!!!! Dangit! Now I've gotta pop in Sam Cooke or go rent Malcolm X. lol ^_^The EXTRAordinary are always misunderstood by the ordinary.
