Los Angeles, CA (AHN) -- A Los Angeles man is suing a sperm bank for negligence and emotional distress after discovering a hidden camera in the ceiling of the sperm bank's "donation room."
In a June 2005 visit to Pasadena's Pacific Reproductive Services, 27-year-old Ken Rigberg discovered the pinhole camera.
According to Rigberg's Los Angeles Superior Court complaint, he noticed an unusual hole in the ceiling tile of their private donation room.
After further inspection, Rigberg noticed that there was a hidden camera on top of the ceiling tile and that the lens of the camera was positioned to capture the activity in that donation room.
Rigberg is described in the lawsuit as a "regular sperm donor" who went to Pacific to provide an honorable and essential benefit to his community.
Pacific's website says that it pays men $100 per donation and that most contributors donate once or twice weekly over a minimum one year period.
Even though the Pasadena police have the hidden camera equipment, they can not determine who placed the camera in the donation room.
The complaint, which is over at thesmokinggun.com, notes, "Rigberg, who had been visiting Pacific for more than a year, no longer donates sperm, as he fears future illegal surveillance of his private acts."
