Community Service

Just wondering, have any nappturality members ever considered doing a community service project? I can think of a thousand things that need to be done, like donating clothes to battered women's shelters, tutoring low performing high school students, and donating time and resources to teenagers who have had children and women who need child care? Maybe a food drive to the local food banks for the holiday season?

I mean, I ain't tryna slam the gatherings, I love them myself, but I'm just wondering if some purpose or goal oriented activity could come out of them other than just celebrating how fine we are because of our nappy hair. It seems like it is something that can be done by region.

i really like this idea! it would be great if we could some sort of national "competition" by region to do something that deals with women, self-esteem, and empowerment.. sort of in the vision of nappturality. i think your ideas really lend to that vision. what do the rest of yall think?

I think this is an awesome idea! I absoultely love this and it could be done by region or even statewide or community. This sounds really interesting and would be good to pin. hmmmm...My brain is turning wheels of all the possible ideas. :icon_thinkerg:
