Whoever said "Life begins at 40" was right. Although my hair is graying (I dye it) and my metabolism is slowing down, nothing compares to the freedom I feel now. It's hard to explain...things that I obsessed about in the earlier phases of my life seem so insignificant now. It's great!

And also, my 2 oldest are grown so I have more time (and $) to spend on ME!

I'm 43, and the only difference in my hair now is that it's drier. I still only have 3 or 4 grays, and it still grows like crazy. I have to get a trim once a month to keep my 2 1/2-3 inch TWA looking good.

I'll be 53 in March. Most folks that know me say I look years younger since I've gone natural. As far as observable changes.....more grey hairs (mainly at the temples). I really don't mind them! Since I've gone completely natural, areas which were once thinner are slowly coming back, even my hairline! I'd forgotten what my natural hair texture was (since it was the '70's that I had an afro). My sister who is 5 years younger is almost totally grey. My face is noticeably drier, so I've been using Oyin's whipped fig pudding on the really dry areas, which seems to help.

I'm 42...I haven't really noticed any differences in my hair yet, with the exception of two or three silver hairs which will probably multiply over time. I'm loving the natural life and as I said in the other thread, I definitely think the natural hair makes me look younger.

I'm 40 plus years young and I have had silver hair since my teens, but lately I am getting a little more strands around my temple areas, not to mention the patch on the side of my hair. Whenever a young person asks about my grey I tell them that it is wisdom and to keep living and learning and they might get some. I have been natural for about 3 years and I really have not noticed any significant change in my hair, I am just enjoying the journey.

I will be 40 on my next birthday. I have just a couple of grays thru my hair but right across my front hairline is a few. Sometimes it bothers me. I have been experiencing dry hair.....never thought it had anything to do with my age.

41 years old and my hair hasn't been this long since I was a child I have been using castor oil this winter after a wash to combat dry hair and it is working very well. Gray hairs slowly creeping in...
