    9. Mary j Blige- her music has always motivated me to be a better me

    8. Angela Davis- not only is she a feminist for black woman but also still is fighting for our civil rights

    7. Ida B Wells-Barnett- fought for not only womans rights but for the rights of all blacks in America

    6.Queen Hatshepsut- Had enough guts to not only dress like a man in order to become pharoh but kept peace btwn upper and lower egypt

    5.Rosa Park- somone so quiet yet strong enough to be the catylist that started the montgomery bus boycott for our civil rights

    4.Harriet Tubman- escaped slavery and still went back numerous times to help her fellow black man escape as well

    3. Queen Nzingah- a queen in West African that fought the Europeans from capturing and enslaving her fellow Africans for 30yrs

    2. Joanne Ingram- my mother one of the strongest woman i know today it would be an honor to turn out as good as her

    1. Sarah Haggerty- My maternal Granmother- she raised my mother and she was even stronger and even more of an influence than my mother i strive to make her proud each and everyday that i wake up

    6. Nichelle Nichols aka Uhura on Star Trek - first black woman I saw on tv that did not play a servant

    Since I was a teen, I've always maintained a list of women that I would want to have a round-table with that have really influenced me. They are:

    1- Alice Walker
    2- Iyanla Vanzant
    3- Oprah Winfrey
    4- MeShell Ndegeocello
    5- Harriet Tubman
    6- Sojourner Truth
    7- My Granny, Maxine Adger
    8- Angela Davis
    9- Assata Shakur
    10- bell hooks

    This list is always evolving for me but I'll come back to add more as I think of them!
