I LOVE LOVE LOVE my locs, which are about to turn 1 year old on the 8th. I certainly do not miss my neverending search for that 'holy grail' moisturizing hair product--my hair is just not so dry anymore. I do NOT miss the detangling sessions, especially since i have a hatred for shed hair (you know, on the sink, in the shower, on me, etc  ) i don't miss the long stying sessions, bad hair days, drippy stinky 'afro-glow' type sprays, balms, conditioners, pomades, combs & brushes all taking up space in my bathroom.
BUT my denman brush and i had a love affair that i really miss! that was always the best massage ever!
Ahhh Denman  how i miss thee.
wow...this is my 2000th post!<div align="center">

I miss NOTHING. My soul-purpose of going natural was to grow locs.

Is there anything I miss - not one thing.
I like my hair much better this way.
About the Denman brush thing - I massage my scalp every night. I read some place that people with locks have scalp issues because they can't get the scalp stimulation that people with loose hair get. Not true. Everyone can and should massage their scalp.

Things I miss:
- My soft, fluffy texture
- Height (I love puff/fro diameter)
- Using extra-creamy conditioner
- Cornrows that lie flat
- Experimenting w/ lots of random products (it's fun!)
Things I don't miss:
- Constant need for moisture
- Having to take down twists & re-style every other week during the winter
- Taking down box braids (ack!!!)
- Split ends
I love my hair either way, though.

I was just thinking about this today as I was playing with my new growth, really loving how it felt...and realizing that I have something in common with transitioners.
Anywhere from 0-4" was a good length for my loose hair. It didn't take long to style, and it was long enough to be somewhat versatile (little twists, twistout, 'fro, etc.). It's only when I decided to grow it out that it got to be, well, interesting. (For the most part it was fun, but after it got past about 9" it started to become more challenging.)
Don't get me wrong: I still plan to have long locs. Actually I want to have long SILVER locs, which, if my parents' graying is any indication, I could probably have in about 20-25 years. But after that, at some point I look forward to going back to my short 'fro. I'm loving the idea of a short silver 'fro on me.
Oh yeah...I do miss shea butter and creamy conditioners.Hello, 2021. Glad to see you. Hope you're bringing us goodness and light this year!

I'm tenderheaded, so I don't miss combing, and brushing at all. Yay!!!
After 27 months of locing, my edges above my temples are growing in, not completely, but they are the thickest they have ever been.
I don't miss spending $150 on microbraids, and 50$ for 2 packs of hair. I don't miss sitting for hours getting them done.
