I do NOT miss the detangling sessions, especially since i have a hatred for shed hair (you know, on the sink, in the shower, on me, etc  ) i don't miss the long stying sessions, bad hair days, drippy stinky 'afro-glow' type sprays, balms, conditioners, pomades, combs & brushes all taking up space in my bathroom.

BUT my denman brush and i had a love affair that i really miss! that was always the best massage ever!

Ahhh Denman  how i miss thee.

    wow...this is my 2000th post!
Haha, I was perusing the loc board and came across my own post ( that was my former name...) What a difference 5 years makes! I took down my locs after 5.5 years and am now loose again. I took them down because of mega-combining (i had 4 headed dragons in some areas, i like big locs) and hair thinning issues, plus I wanted a change. It's been a year since I''ve been a loose natural and I'm headed back to locs. The list of stuff I don't miss up there...that is my life right now haha. It's hilarious to me right now. I don't regret taking down my locs, I had issues that needed to be addressed. I still have a little thinning at the temples, probably because of my hypothyroidism, but I think I can work around it. I had fun with the loose hair but I really only wear one style and I spend a whole weekend day on my hair now. that kinda bites. So back I go, to the land I know.

Me too!!! I loved my fro, but took entirely too long to detangle just to tangle back up before styling even began. Talk about a labor of love LOL!!!

THIS!!! I don't miss having to do my hair after washing. Now I just slather some oil on my roots, work it to the tip and go on about my business.

I feel you on the bolded! I was recovering from a broken femur and was finally able to wash my hair. After putting in conditioner & getting ready to detangle, I said, "I cain't do this no mo'." I washed the conditioner out and put in 2-strand twists to begin my journey.

I don't miss long detangling sessions, the struggle to retain length, or my dissatisfaction with my DIY hair styles (and my styles and I means 2ST and Twist-Outs).

Right now there is nothing about loose hair that I do miss.

Watching some old favs on YouTube (Alicia Keys), I know I will miss intricate cornrow designs. BUT, I won't miss searching desperately for a trusted braider, adding extensions to my hair, paying to get my hair braided, and being afraid to wash my braids for fear of ruining the do that I paid so much to have. =( Nope, I can give ALL that up!! lol

One word...shrinkage. Wash and gos as a lochead is great!
