I started my locs 4 weeks ago and everything is going great except my hair is really dry. What is a good oil to moisturize them that will not cause a buildup?

I normally just use pure Coconut Oil, Its very light and leaves a nice sheen. HTH

    Olive oil

Edited to add: It is good to use your oil right after shampooing or spritzing for better absorption into your hair.

I liked almond oil because it was light and absorbed quickly.

Hot oil treatments (using a heat cap) w/ olive oil make my hair soft, but it doesn't really add moisture per se. For that, I'll spritz my hair w/ a mixture of water and moisturizer.

First off, oils do not moisturize. They lock in the moisture that is already in your hair. You must, must, must water your hair. I am a big fan of spritzing so i usually just add the oil(s) to my spray bottle. I use olive oil or coconut oil regularly. I just got a bottle of oil from the $0.99 store, it has safflower, Vit E, chamomile and one more that i can't recall right now. I like it.
