I get Similac brand formula from WIC.
I asked the pediatrician would it be OK if I bought Enfamil when I run out of the Similac because I have sooooooo many Enfamil coupons. He said that it's OK because they're both regular formulas and he tolerated it when I switched him from Enfamil to Similac in the beginning (I had a bunch of sample tubs of Enfamil so I used them up).
Anyway, when I was at Wal-mart I noticed that they have a brand of formula called Parent's Choice and it's cheap. Similac is $22, Enfamil is $23, the Parent's Choice brand is $11! (that's for the 25oz tubs)
I hear some say that it's all the same and that you're just paying for the name.

Check the label .. and do an ingredient by ingredient comparison .. alot of Brand
name companies distribute the same formula under a different name ..
The label will speak for itself ..

I believe Parent's Choice is essentially the same as Enfamil but I did notice that Enfamil dissolves in the water easier. PC clumped a more so you had to shake it harder. My son only drank formula for about two months and Enfamil/PC for only about one month but I don't think he had a problem when we went between the two.

You get a voucher for 31 cans or 9 tubs of formula a month.
I think the tubs last longer. I like the powder formula anyway because can formula smells funny.
I'll say that much will last you about 3 weeks.:)

I use Target Brand formula after I did a line by line comparison to the similac formula. my lil dude is doing real well on it and it is a lot less expensive! I also received a sample of this Parent's choice through the mail and used it too. I wouldn't have any problem using Parent's choice - I just shop at Target more often!!

I used the Target brand formula and my little one did ok on it but he definitely noticed a difference. He drank it but he did look at it strange when I first gave it to him. I don’t know, I really don’t like formula anyway so giving him generic formula just didn’t feel right. But if others have done a side by side comparison and it is the same and your little one drinks it then I don’t see the problem in the grand jist of things.

The FDA regulates formula so they should all contain the same ingredients and be equally safe. I mostly breastfed, but once the Enfamil that we brought home from the hospital was gone and I started weaning, I just bought the giant generic tubs of formula at Costco.
