depends on who you ask. The health risks associated with cow milk (skim or otherwise) outweigh the supposed benefits for me. So my household opts for soy and rice milks.

i haven't drank milk in years. i recently stopped eating cheese because i was sick. as soon as i stopped i got so much better.
humans are the only animals that consume dairy products beyond infancy.
i am thinking about going cold turkey vegan in terms of consuming dairy. currently, i will eat a slice of cake or pie if it is made with milk. and i use butter.
but cream soups, ravioli, ice cream, lasagna, italian/mexican food, etc. no can do.
i drink soy milk.
nowadays milk has so much nasty crap in it. can you imagine if the animal was sick then given antibiotics and fed food with genetically modified organisms, then you're consuming all of that crap.
yuck.

I've heard that, because of the estrogen that soy produces, it can cause breast cancer, infertility and a plethora of various health issues. Shame because I prefer the taste of soy milk to skim cow milk. I don't know where I can get a hold of this almond/rice/etc. milk stuff.
