Do Not be discouraged by others negative comments or lack of compliments... grow to luv your napps first and perhaps accolades will follow

DO NOT let anything in your personal life make you do something drastic to your hair. Call a friend, visit the site, take a walk, look at your Fotki.....anything but go back. You will ultimately regret what was done and start over anyway. (Face it, you love your napps!)

Don't [color=#CC0000]change your hair for nobody but yourself.
One of my ex boyfriends hated my nappy hair and I put a chemical fire cream in it. I regret that so much. If he doesn't like your hair, let him find somebody's hair he likes.

DON'T do wash and gos on twist/braid outs unless you have detangled first....my hair was so matted and tangled! and my hair does not tangle easily so you know I was frustrated!

DO NOT take too seriously the negative comments you get about your hair. Let's face it: some people are unhappy with themselves and they'll do whatever it takes to get you in that negative frame of mind too. And well, Shug Avery said it best:
"People can't stand to see somebody be too happy or too free." ( I  that movie!)

Do NOT cut your own hair unless you know what you are doing. It's not as easy as it seems. I cut my hair on my own and it turned out just ok but I could clearly see some uneven spots. I got it all fixed up by going to a barber the next morning so now I'm good to go.

I would like to add DO NOT buy any products without reading EVERYTHING the product contains on the label!!!! This is esepcially true if you are trying to avoid cones or use all natural products in your hair. Some of those products start out with natural ingredients, but sneak in the cones and other junk in the middle or at the bottom.
I had a problem with protein over-load and silicone build up because I was not being careful enough with my products, especially conditoners. DO NOT just assume that every conditioner is a moisturizer, because all of them are not!

dont color your hair unless you are extra committed to the additional tlc it needs....nappy hair is dry enough...adding color just doubles that
dont be satisfied with dry, hard carpet feeling napps! That is not normal! Keep experimenting, you can get your napps to feeling like cotton

Do not assume that wearing your napptural texture will hinder your personal progress. Contrary to what some fools may say, nappies can get a job, find a SO, etc. without straightening their hair. If you put your best self forward at all times, the last thing a potential employer or suitor should be concerned about is your hair.
