Have You Seen This Man? (lewis Hamilton)

Now I have only been here for about a DAY but I must say that I am a little disappointed. No one here is talking about a HUGE part of black history that is currently being written.
I'm just kiddin' I don't expect this to be big news on a natural hair forum. I did a search for his name here and I didn't find anything on Lewis Hamilton.

He is a formula one race car driver. Formula One (or F1) is the most intense form of car racing in the world. Though not too popular here in the US it is the second most viewed sport in the world next to soccer (or football).
He is winning and placing well in EVERY race this season. He Won in Canada and thie US. It is also his rookie season. He's 22 and if he continues he will be: the youngest F1 champion, the first black F1 champion (he is already the fist black F1 driver) the kid is amazing.

I don't expect you to become a true F1 fanatic but RIGHT now this man is set to become a true black icon and change the history books. I think that as African people we should support brothers and sisters in the spotlight so it doesn't dim so quickly.

google him and if you have speed channel check you local listings to see him race this Sunday.

PLEASE do not move this to the "Sports" topics.
The discussion I wanted to evoke is about Black History and this being a somewhat poignant moment. Yes it is sports related but I think it's a little bigger topic.

do what you must though... I understand having to run your forums a certain way, I'm not here to rock the boat.

I heard about him when he won in Canada, Tom Joyner talked about him as a black history fact. He sure is good looking.

This is a sport that is difficult for minorities to get into from what I understand, all about the benjamins and some would rather the sport stay predominately white.

I'll keep an eye out for this brotha though.
