    Thumbs up

I was reading through the natural hair care tips on the Oyin site and they mentioned using a shower brush for detangling. I am currently using a shower comb but, if a brush is easier, I'll switch. Plus I think I already have one (which was bought for something else). For those of you that use a shower brush for detangling:

    1) What are the benefits of using that over a shower comb?
    2) Does it treat your hair/ends gently?
    3) What type of brush do you use?

    TIA

Do you mean shower brush as in ? If so, I'm not sure how helpful this would be for detangling unless your hair was extremely short.

No, I think that they meant shower brush as in a Goody brush that you can use in the shower. Kind of like this:

Or just a brush with wide spaces and those little rubber tips. Sorry for the confusion. Also, Here's the link to the Oyin site so you can read her description of it. She talks about the brush in section 2.

    Ahh, I see.

    1) What are the benefits of using that over a shower comb? I don't see it as more beneficial vs simply serving a different purpose. I use the 'shower brush' when I want to clear out shed hair. My hair is tightly coiled, so shed hair doesn't slide easily through my hair when I'm detangling with the shower comb. Instead, it gets tangled up in the other coiled strands.

    2) Does it treat your hair/ends gently? I have to ensure it treats my hair gently. I do so by brushing from the ends up AND holding the section of hair I'm working on. This is done with great care and patience.

    3) What type of brush do you use? I use the Denman 4. (click to enlarge)

HTH. You can also do a search for 'denman' for more threads on this topic.

I saw this brush in Sally's and I was scared. Do you detangle with a comb first before the brush? If I did that first I would probably be willing to try it.
