By the look of these pics, did the hairdresser I go to do a good job? She used that Ampro gel which I read today on here isnt the best and I thought they would be a little longer.

    So does this look right?

your hair looks good, gq...(gq, haha :P )

there is no "wrong" or "right" way to dread up
there's a number of methods/products (or lack of) that u can use

and don't sweat the gel thing. some use it, some don't. there are posters on this board who started w/ gel and have healthy locs to date

I think that ampro gel has alcohol in it and that's why you do NOT want her using that on your locs. It will dry it out, cause dandruff and make your hair icky over time. I'd pick up some Fruit of the Earth aloe gel for your next retwist and INSIST that she use that. You were right to doubt her. They look great!

You hair looks geat. Mine was started with some kind of gel, she didn't use much though. My hair may take longer to loc due to the texture so I like the hold of this, but I plan to get her to switch it to that jamacian mango stuff, I have 2 unopened jars anyway. Anywhoo they look great. I wouldn't worry about it right now but further along I would consider switching.

THANK YOU! To whoever made me PINK again.
