hey ya'll. i'm a loose nappy again. i guess i was lurking in here too much as a locer! ; ) anyway, i cut my seven month old locs. they were fully loced, so there was no way to unravel them as some have done. is it normal for my scalp to be so tender after not having combed my hair for so long? please help.

There is a way to unravel matured locs....it just takes time. Very tedious. Hmmmm....it's possible that that's why your scalp is sore, receiving the comb again, but I don't know. On the other hand it seems that it shouldn't be a problem if you were still massaging your scalp while washing and moisturizing, etc. What products are you using now? Is it possible you're having an allergic reaction? I know for me, sometimes the irritation will present as tenderness and not itchiness.

Now that I think about it...yeah, my scalp was sore for a few days after I cut/picked out my locs. Silly me...I didn't link it to the removal of the locs, but in a way it makes sense since your strands are free again to "move" in any which way.

Fortunately the soreness did go away.
It's 2020...do you know where you're going to?
