How Do You Keep Your Fro Fresh Looking Throughout The Day?

Hey Ladies,

Help a new BC girl out.

My fro gets dry looking and shrunken as the day goes on.

Do you carry spritz with you when you go about your day?

If yes, do you use your regular morning refresher/leave-in or something else?

Wish I could help, but i don't do anything to my fro during the day. I style it in the morning & call it a day. Wet products just cause my hair to shrink.

Same as Keonsmommy, I do nothing during the day. In the mornings I may apply a little burdock root cream with a lil olive and honey balm mix together (both by qhemet) spritz a little greg juice by Oyin, pick it out and call it a day, my hair is not dry and looks fresh all day long.

I'm gonna have 2 agree w/ the other 2 ladies. I jus wash my have (if its time 2), add some moisterizer and let it be. But if I do notice its a lil dry, I'll add a lil leave in conditioner (I'm a college student and I stay on campus so goin back 2 my room is no prob)

I work 9 hours Mon-Thurs so I am away from home least 10 hours, barring no pit stops.

I feel like a new a refresher during the late afternoon due to the shrinkage so I think I will get me a smaller spray bottle just for the office.

I finally found products that keep my hair very soft and moisturized all day long till I rinse out in the evenings. So I quit using spritz throughout the day.

Every morning I conditioner wash with Herbal Essences Totally Twisted. Then pat dry with a paper towel (never a regular towel or microfiber). Apply Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Nectar and Hair Milk, then apply some Elasta QP Feels Like Silk. I use Fantasia IC Gel with Sparklites on my edges. Then finish it by a spritz with Jessicurl Awe Inspiraling Spray.

There is ZERO crunch factor-- it is very soft even after drying and looks super shiny and moisturized all day long. If I don't rinse out in the evening but just do a tie-down, the next morning my hair is STILL soft and slammin!

I also use Herbal Essences shampoo. I used to use the Totally Twisted (the conditioner is GREAT) but they ran out of it where I shopped at so I switched to the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration and it works great. But I digress, I use the Hair Pudding and Quick Fix Spritz by Curls by Sisters Smith in the a.m. when I wake up and I'm good for the rest of the day. It's excellent for curl definition and its a great moisturizer.

I have Kinky Curly Knot Today and Curling Custard on the way so I will try these on top of my homemade leave-in before buying more products.

But, I do appreciate the product suggestions and will refer back for future reference.

nah, i don't carry spritz. i go to the bathroom occasionally to fluff it up :unsure: ...

i usually only have a fro with no kind of band, clip etc holding it down a bit when i'm at the bar/club. i can pretty much guarantee that at the end of the night it will have shrunk a bit and be looking just a HAM in general from people touching my hair, bumping into me by accident and humidity.

New Nap, new products may be a consideration if the hair needs products to be applied throughout the day. Is it just that you don't like the way your hair looks when it's dry? Dryness & shrinkage is inevitable.

I just took a look at your album and your hair looks fine to me. (Tried to leave comments in your album, but couldn't.) Qhemet's HC is the ABSOLUTE best!! It usually keeps my hair moisturized forever and it looks like we have the same hair type.

ETA: Ixnay on carrying around a bottle of spritz. Now, I will check to make sure the shape is okay. Don't wanna walk around with a dented 'fro.
