I would say 30.5 years. Being that I just became comfortable with my own natural hair and can wear it out with NO shame!!!! That's a pretty long time. I'm teaching my 5 year old now so it won't take that long with her.

I never really didnt accept it. I always loved to touch my new growth when I had a r.elax.er. When I found Np it just gave me the courage I needed to go for the big chop. Im absolutely in love with my hair now, even when it throws hissy fits because its been combed  .

i never hated my hair. i wasn't one of those permies who lived in fear of my new growth showing... i washed my hair once or twice a week and even more often in the summer cuz i'd "wash and go." i didn't fear water/swimming pools/rain/frizzy hair.

to be honest, i kept a CFC cuz i didn't know i had any other option.

it took me a minute to get used to short hair... not long though. still  it to this day?

............I've loved the naps since reading "good hair" BUT it took me years and years and years to stop caring what other folk think about them.

I loved my hair from the very beginning! It took me about 8 months to realize that my hair won't do what I want it to do, it does what IT want's to do!

I've always loved my naps, it was the "learning to take care of my naps by myself in all weather and situations that gave me trouble but now I'm 100% set.

Instantly I believe. The only thing that bothers me now is my limited styling capabilities. But, it's growing and I'm able to experiment so that keeps that itch at bay. I know once it gets longer and I can style differently, it will be even better. Right now, the summer is perfect for my TWA.
Happy Nappiversary to ME (March 29, 2009)!!! 1 year natural and counting.

MoNappy said it perfectly for me! I was so happy to get rid of the cfc and be natural, but what took me the most times and I sometimes still have those days is my hair not necessarily doing what I want it to do.

As others have stated, I didn't hate my naps, to be honest I didn't know anything about them. All I new was relaxed hair.... Then I saw a natural girl and fell in love with her hair. I started doing resreach and found this site... and since then I have learned to love them.
