Hi, my name is La-Donya I',m 18.. Ive been lurking on here for quite some time and after all of the topics and tips Ive seen- I decided to post! Basically Im living near London in england- the UK in general isnt big on locs/ natural hair/ black people lol- they havent even caught up to US yet. Until I move back to the US or to the caribbean- I'ma need some tips, support and suggestions as Ive started my baby locs (1 week 1 day). I'll be posting pics soon- but since I started with relaxed ends I can guess its going to be a long process! I got inspiration from my auntie (no1 else around me including parents and friends are too big on locs either) so apart from her- I get slightly lost at times. Ive started with TST's and about 3 inches of new growth (my hair which ive just cut to 6 inches from 11!)
Any advice for newbies? - especially cos theres still relaxed ends from 9 months ago. I've read about waxes and shampooing- there are NO loctitians near me apart from my aunty.. Ive read on sleep methods but I just wanna focus on the fact that my ends are still kinda straight and even tho i rinsed em 2day (under a stocking cap) - any advice will be greatly appreciated. Newbie loc'ers please join in also. Show me love xhttp://www.myspace.com/lriques

All questions answered! Thanks. Your natural 'loose 'hair is beautiful btw- including the original locs (how did u chop them?) and the braid locs. x

I just let my hair grow out a little bit. The front and back of my hair was always the hardest to keep twisted.
So those parts I were able to just cut off. The crown of my head had no issues locking and I tried to unlock that part but I got impatient  so I just cut them off. So the front of my hair is longer than the back :P
