It amazes me that how some are really offended by it. When we have fried our hair to straightness but I have yet to see if anyone cares? I did read that their hair is similar to ours and I was reemed for bringing that up. I was not glorifying just stating what I have read. But it is true it is not difficult for them to spin their hair into a fro. Honestly, I think it is cool. When another culture thinks our hair is cool like that we still hatin on our naps! What is wrong with this picture?

Congo..I was also checking that one out as well and love the style. I have no reason to feel offended when others where natural styles that resemble nappy hair. Nappy hair does not just belong to the African (American) race...but to many from different ethnic backgrounds, regions of the world, genetics, etc as do locs/dreds/etc. Many races and peoples around the world wear them for different reasons.
I agree with D that its a little funny when some folks get offended at others wearing styles that are deemed as belonging to us. When we straighnten our hair (and it is not naturally straight and you are dramatically altering the look/texture of your hair) who are we offending then?My hair stays on my mind......
And I will leave my husband for James Todd Smth.

Someone asked for the direct link. Here it is.
Interesting thread. I remember something very similar to this one popping up not too long ago. I say more power to them. If they like it, I love it. It's just ironic that a lot of black women don't find the beauty in our hair like they do.

I am not offended at all! I actually take it as a compliment when I see other cultures wearing our styles. I have a best friend from Japan who rocked his locks because he believed highly in hip hop culture!
