Unhappy Thin fine hair turned to coarse unmanageable hair!

I am now 4 months post relaxer and I have a protective style of singles with synthetic hair. When I wash my hair my new growth is very dry and brittle so of course when it dries it gets VERY thick and uneasy to part. Since my permed hair is very fine and thin it breaks off easily, does anyone know of any steps I should take as far as washing/conditioning to stay moisturized. I already know of the ingredients to stay away from but still my hair is crazy!

Have you ever tried co-washing? It might work for you. For the next couple hair washes, instead of shampoo use just conditioner. Your hair should soften up. After you've rinsed your hair of the conditioner, apply a little olive oil while it's still damp and work it into your hair and onto your scalp.

    Hope that helps.

Yes, you get EVOO from the grocery store.
I would also suggest that you moisturize your hair between washes. You can use a braid spray or just plain water. Synthetic hair can suck the moisture from your own hair.

It's just time to find the right moisturizing agents for your hair. Now it's getting warm,(well eventually in the Bay Area, glycerine in water may be your friend.
    Try the 3 step method
    1. water/glycerine or aloevera gel to open up the cuticle
2.Infuse an oil into the hair strand like olive/jojoba
3.seal in the moisture and oil with an emoillient like castor oil or flaxseed oil
Let us know if it makes a difference!

    UmmmmmI dunno...
    what I DO know is
1.Depends on the kind of hair you have in your braids
When I had human hair in my head and conditioned my hair, the braids would sliiiiiiip out. I would be at meetings and see the hair on the floor! Yikes!Embarassing

With synthetic hair-it can get slippery-but not as bad as human hair.

I believe in feeding the hair above all else as a priority and tying my head up at night with a satin scarf.

So.....do you have fake hair in your head or is it just your hair in braids? BC it makes a diff!

Ahh chel the term BC scares me right now lol! But it's synthetic I've washed it about 3 times and none have came out (yet) and I've had em since feb and justttt started moisturizing em w/ the leave in, castor oil, and herbal oil in a spritz bottle. That sound safe?? *crosses fingers*
    Xoxo, Cae
