I know that muscle weighs more than fat. So my question is are your clothes fitting tighter or still the same? In my opinion the scale is not the most accurate way to judge your fitness goals. You probably are gaining muscle, but I would have your body fat% tested at your gym. Hope this helps.

Why would you want to gain weight instead of muscle? I would want muscle because it is smaller and compact.

I do want muscle, I went to the doctor the other day and he made me feel kind of bad I had gain 6 pound in less than a month. I was to upset to tell him what I was doing. He even made me fill bad for being on the South Beach diet.

    Hi "palmerz6",

This is a weight loss forum so I'm assuming that your goal is weight loss (or in your case fat loss). If you gained 6 pounds than you've probably gained muscle mass, but this doesn't necessarily mean that any fat was lost. Weight training does make you more firm by shaping the muscles underneath the fat. However, it doesn't completely get rid of the fat.

Whats your diet/nutrition like? Also, I don't keep making assumptions....what exactly are your goals?
