    Thumbs up Sisterlocks to Interlocks

    Hey Everyone!
I have a question...I currently have sisterlocks (4 years), I was thinking about starting to interlock my locs. Does anyone know the pros/cons of doing so, if any?
    Thanks in advance!

What do you mean by interlock? If you mean do self maintenance using latching, then it's the same that a consultant does. It's the same thing.

OP, I don't know how much research you've done on the two "subjects", but before you start self-maintaining, you might want to do a lot of research.

Don't get or be too confused as there are several tools/patterns used to "interlock" the hair. Sisterlock "maintenance" uses unique tools, and a common pattern".

Sisterlocks is maintain by interlocking. Now certain tools are better for maintaining sisterlocks (if you not looking to retighen your sisterlocks by the sisterlock tool), so you should research it some more. There are plenty of DIYers that talk about those tools as well.

The tool makes no difference to the finished product, it's just "something or other" to pull the hair through. The only difference is that some people find particular tools easier to use than others. Just like some people hold a pen one way other hold it another way, as long as it gets ink on the paper in an orderly fashion, the end result is the same.

This may not be sure true for the size of the locks. For example sisterlocks are smaller, so interlocks sisterlocks with a latch tool may damage her locks, if they were done in the typical size. A sisterlocks consultant show an example of what the latch tool does on small locks. Now I not against the latch tool for bigger traditional locks since I seen video and blog that show it does beautiful job at interlocking.

^There are all types of tools that come in all sizes from micro to large. The Nappylocks tool has a micro size that's geared toward SL sized locks.

Yup, no big deal. Dewdrop comes on here often and she did that. Check her out and go for it if you want!
