Just inserted the cup and it was actually pretty easy. Not totally sure I rotated it correctly but we shall see. I guess using OB tampons has gotten me used to inserting things with my fingers.

So far so good. I did leak during the night though. I think I had it in about 10 hrs from the time I put it in until I got up this morning, so I'll have to empty during the night maybe. Taking it out this morning was a little messy but I guess I'll get the hang of it.

I just recently got my diva cup in the mail and today is the first day of my cycle since ordering. I am hoping I inserted it properly but I could not do the 360 degree turn lol. I'm hoping its fully open, thankfully I'm off so I'll be home if there are any mishaps. But I don't feel it at all which is great. I got the diva cup 1 even though I'm over 30, because I haven't given birth.

Well my first use went well. I had a few small leaks and wore a pantiliner, which I normally do anyway. I did not do the turn thing on insertion; tried but couldn't really tell if it was turning. Also, for the first few days I had to empty at least once every 5 hrs. No way I can go 8 plus hours!

^After awhile, your cycle may lighten up and it may because shorter.
I remember over a year ago, I had to empty the cup every three or four hours. These days, I can literally (although it is not very wise or healthy of me) can go way over eight hours without emptying my cup. I just refuse to dump in a public restroom, and I'm often too lazy to get up in the middle of the night. My cycle in high school to college use to be 7 to 8 days when I was on the regular pads. I'm currently averaging 3 to 4 days with only the cup and cloth pads. I thought it was because I'm aging, but I'm really think it was because of the cup.
Also, I never turn my cup. I insert it 1/3 or 1/4 of the way in (folded in a "U" position) and let it pop open, insert the rest in, and I don't worry about leaks. It may work for you.By NP member Vavoon. This is me 24/7/365 lol

^The same thing happened to me. With disposable pads, my period was about 6-7 days long and I had to use 5 a day (overnights for heavy flow, too). Towards the end of my pad-using, though, I could go with maybe 3 pads a day. It may have been shortening over time, but I noticed big changes with my cup over 9 months. At first, my period was 5 days long. Over 9 months, it reduced to 4 and then 3 days, and now it seems to be about 2.5-3 days long. I've been able to go 12 hours without emptying the cup from the beginning, but it seems to fill up a lot less in that time. I'll usually empty twice per day. I've gone 24 hours w/o emptying a few times . Do not recommend. The cup is almost full after that, so no spilling even then, but, ah...the smell is..to be avoided...

these cups are more hygenic, honestly. those pad things were horrid - and honestly because it's external for some women you could smell them from a mile away (guess they were waiting satin undies too?) and how da heck do you work out with the pads? you can't do leg raises with that mess spilling everywhere!
i too noticed shorter period days. i'm naturally meticulous so no accidents yet. *knocks on wood*
