@NappilyT Please share more about those wraps. It sounds like something fun and easy. My locs need some holiday pop. Are they called wraps and are they at the beauty supply store? Thx

Hi.@Queenlocs I do not have any loc adornments yet but I hear that some loc jewelry is sewn in with needle and thread. There is a how -to video on The videoloctician.com website. You may want permanent for some and option to switch up with others. Peace and blessings.

I am going to wear a loc scrunchie for the holidays, maybe with a Christmas theme but I might just stay home so that I wont make anyone else see the pain I am in for not finding a job yet. But I will not know until the time comes. Anyway Happy Holidays to All.

So I have a loc confession: before this recent wash & retwist, I had gone about 6 weeks without washing my hair. And I'm talking about after long runs and sweaty workout sessions. I'm cringing. LOL! I just didn't have the time. When I did have time to wash a head of hair, I had to do my 7 y.o.'s because well, I pride myself on her locs looking a certain way and I just don't prioritize mine the same way I do hers. To make up for it, I soaked my head in the sink full of clarifying shampoo for about 45 minutes. Then I washed and washed and washed and washed. Followed up with an ACV rinse/soak. Hot oil treatment. Retwist that took 2 days (probably about 6 hours). My head feels so much better now. I'm definitely not going that long without washing again. Oh, I did water rinses in that time so water did touch my scalp but we all know after a certain point, water isn't going to cut it.
Okay...I feel better. LOL!

I noticed a picture of my locs from last year and they "appear" to be the same length. I know they've grown but "sometimes" I lose patience and want them bra strap lenth like yesterday!!!...lol. Right now at 3+years in they are finally kissing the tops of my shoulders and tickling the top of my back.
Also, due to my hair type I've come to accept two things: most of my ends will never close and my locs will always be frizzy. At least I'll never have to bother with trying to palm roll them.
Being that I plan to let them grow to just above my bra strap I have no worries with cutting (once they reach that length)them being that most of them aren't sealing anyway.
Lastly...I secretly envy all of the long haired locs wearers..male and female..I don't discriminate...lmao"Don't ever think I fell for you, or over you. I didn't fall in love, I rose in it. I saw you and made up my mind". Toni Morrison

Hi. Are those color wraps at the beauty supply stores or the craft stores? These sound nice for the holidays. I want some.
I desire thickness and length. Thickness over length if I had to choose. I want to wear my locs down without feeling self consious about my thin crown. It's getting better slowly. I really have hopes that not doing retights will help out a lot. If only I can hold off. There are a lot of styles I can wear covering that area but I want the freedom to wear my locs however I desire. Gonna happen yall. Gonna happen. Peace and Blessings.Last edited by Onnica; 11-20-2013 at 06:58 AM.
