Dee's CoCoLoYo

This is a great restorative and conditoning hair masque that's quick and easy. Helps soften tired, dry, uncoooperative hair.

Dee's CocoLoYo

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
3 tablespoons of curd / natural, unsweetened, plain yoghurt

Method:
Combine all ingredients and mix until it makes a paste.
Smooth onto hair from scalp to ends.
Allow to remain on your hair for 30 to 45 minutes.
Rinse THOROUGHLY in warm water and wash and condition hair as usual.

You will need to wash your hair after this, not no-poo. Any time you use dairy products in your hair you must use shampoo afterwards.

Want more? Here are some additions to try:
An ACV rinse after your conditioner will add even more shine.
Add 1 tsp of Marula Oil
Add 1 tsp of Honey

To make your own curd / yoghurt base

Ingredients:
4 cups Full Fat Milk or Raw Milk (not UHT)
4 tbsp Plain Natural Yoghurt with live cultures (starter)

Method:
Bring milk to a boil and cool
Once cool, remove the cream from milk by skimming it off the top.
Place the cream into another pot and warm it until it is warm but not too hot.
In a casserole dish, combine yoghurt into milk and stir well. Cover.
Place it in a warm & cozy place for overnight or for 5-6 hours.
Then refrigerate it for 1-2 hours for better results.

I only keep my curd for a week. It must remain refrigerated. You can keep some of this to act as a starter for your next batch!
