    Default New to Natural

So my name's Raekiko and I've been relaxing my hair for about 15yrs. I've recently noticed since the birth of my almost 2yo that my hair, which grew significantly during pregnancy, was at a stand still and its breaking too much. So I thought going natural would be a good way to teach my hair and myself healthy hair habits. I haven't had a relaxer since oct and I'm dying to relax my hair bc there's soo much new growth, it's unruly and I have no clue how to treat it that doesn't include using a flat iron, blow dryer, or a relaxer. Oh and I decided against the big chop bc I wouldn't feel comfortable. My mom actually gave me a big chop d/t my hair breaking terribly, so I def know this time around it's not for me. However I was thinking of Senegalese twists w/short breaks in between to trim the relaxed tips and promote new growth until I'm at a comfortable length. So if anybody has any tips or helpful products to help bring my dry but lovely locks back to life I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to NP! Have you checked out the Transitioner's Discussion? I didn't transition, but I like to go there and to Help Me With My Hair and the Homemade Products sections for tips.
